Alexander B

My name is Alexander B.  I am in 9th grade in orphanage #5 in Odessa.  I am 15 years old and I live in the city of Odessa with my disabled grandma.  We live in poverty on her monthly pension of $50.  That is why I live in the orphanage.  It is really hard for me because my grandma always says that there is no money, sometimes we don’t even have enough for food.  But despite all the difficulties I try not to lose heart.  I study well and I understand that I can’t expect help from anyone.  After I finish 9th grade I want my childhood dream to come true: to enter the maritime academy. I understand that after school my life will change.  The most important thing is to find money for my studies so as always during the summer I will work.  But the most important thing in life is friends.  I see these kinds of friends in the program “Universal Aid for Children”.  I know some of the kids in this organization and we are friends. In spite of the difficulties in my life, I didn’t give up.   I started participating in sports like body building and I am in good physical shape.  A little about me:  I try to reach my goals and always go to the end.  I am nice, friendly, and happy.  I love cars.  When I worked this summer at a car repair shop I started to understand them and I know some about motors.  I love to be outside in the fresh air.  Before I take the entrance exams for the maritime academy, I would like to attend prep classes there.  I am trying to figure out how to do this on my own since my grandma has a bad heart and her pension goes for her medicine.
