Ekaterina K.

My name is Ekaterina K.  I am in 9th grade in orphanage #5 in Odessa.  I am 14 years old and I live in the city of Odessa.  My parents weren’t taking care of me so I was taken from my family and put in the shelter and then the orphanage.  My parents aren’t able to care for me.  They are already older and it is hard for them to earn money.  My father often drinks and fights with my mom.  In spite of the difficulties in my family, I study well and I understand that I shouldn’t expect help from anyone.  After 9th grade finishes I want my childhood dream to come true-to enter the cooking trade school and become a trained cook.  I know that after school my life will change and it is important to have good and faithful friends.  I see these kinds of friends in the program “Universal Aid for Children”.  I know some of the other kids in this organization and we are friends.  A little about me:  I am happy, productive, nice, and understanding.  I always help everyone.  I like to create, draw, and write poems.  Life has hit me hard, but I am still hoping for a good future.
