Olga G.

I, Olga G., was born on in 1998 in the village of Semihatki Berezovsky region Odessa area. There were four children in our family. The family was dysfunctional: father and mother abused alcohol and beat us. My mother killed my younger little sister. My mother was deprived of her parents’ rights when I was six. I was taken from the family and sent to Berezovsky shelter, and the elder brothers stayed with father. From Berezovsky shelter I was sent to orphanage #7 because I am handicapped from childhood. I am thankful to God for having been sent to this orphanage. Here I met good caregivers, teachers who not only gave me the knowledge but taught me to be kind and compassionate to others’ grief.
In this orphanage I learned about Universal Aid for Children. I learned from Vera S. that God loves me and cares about me. Thank you Clara Pascal and Universal Aid for Children for the help in my surgery in Kiev hospital. I always dreamed to have a good family and for my children not to know what orphanage and shelters are. I have a favorite subject at school. It is chemistry. I sing well. My childhood dream, was to become a singer. I participated in different contests and festivals.
I will study to become a hairdresser – stylist. Vera taught me how to knit and embroider with beads. I am thankful to God for the years that I lived in the orphanage and I am seriously thinking about my future. Thank you very much for accepting me into the graduates’ program. I will do my best to study well to be up to your care about me.
I love little children very much. I like to take care of them at school. I learned to help those who need my support. I have a big family at school, and many friends whom I will never forget.
